Your game, your information
This policy explains how Darts Scoreboard handles information in its iPhone app, Apple Watch companion, widgets, and this privacy website. You can use the app without creating an app account. Premium access must first be established through the store.
Player names, match history, and scoring statistics are stored on your device. Optional iCloud sync uses your private iCloud database. Apple and RevenueCat handle purchase-related information needed to provide premium access. We do not sell personal information or use it for cross-app advertising.
Information saved on your devices
The app saves player names and profile identifiers; match rules, scores, visits, results, and revision history; onboarding answers and progress; preferences and session goals; and statistics calculated from recorded games. It also saves a device identifier used to coordinate match ownership and prevent duplicate scoring actions.
These records support score entry, correction, match recovery, personalized defaults, and progress. The app does not require your legal name: a nickname is enough. We do not receive your player names or match logs through a developer-operated gameplay server.
A saved premium-access record is kept in the device Keychain so established access can work offline. A subscription is usable through its last known expiration; purchase updates require connectivity.
Optional iCloud sync
If you have premium and enable sync, player profiles and match revisions are uploaded to the private CloudKit database associated with your signed-in Apple Account. This includes names, scores, rules, timestamps, and stable record identifiers. Apple provides the account, storage, and transfer infrastructure.
Sync is optional. You can turn it off in the app's Settings and continue local play while your premium access remains valid. Turning sync off, changing accounts, or losing premium does not erase local records or previously uploaded cloud copies. The app requires reconnection after an iCloud account change before uploading local history to that account.
The app retains revision history, including corrections and competing versions, to recover matches and resolve conflicts. A cloud deletion does not automatically erase local copies. Reconnecting a device that retains local records may upload those records again.
Purchases and premium access
Apple processes App Store payments. We do not receive your full payment-card details. RevenueCat validates and restores purchases and determines access to premium features. It processes purchase history, transaction and product identifiers, subscription status, and a randomly generated app user identifier, together with technical information used to deliver its service.
The app uses RevenueCat's anonymous identifier rather than sending a player name or email address. This identifier is pseudonymous: it distinguishes a purchase record, even though the app does not use it as your public identity. Our integration does not send player names, scores, or match logs to RevenueCat.
RevenueCat also provides purchase reporting and subscription analytics to the developer. The app does not include separate gameplay analytics, advertising SDKs, or advertising attribution integrations. Purchase information may need to be retained for restoration, fraud prevention, accounting, or legal obligations.
Apple Watch and widgets
The paired Watch exchanges confirmed match state, scoring commands, command identifiers, and premium-access status with its iPhone through Apple's WatchConnectivity framework. The Watch caches the latest state and any action awaiting confirmation so it can reconnect without silently applying a score twice.
Widgets read a local shared snapshot containing premium status, the current player and score, and a concise progress summary. Widget content is marked privacy-sensitive and the shared file uses device data protection. What is visible while locked also depends on your device and widget privacy settings. Widgets do not send scores to a separate developer server.
This website and support requests
This policy website is hosted by Vercel. Loading it sends ordinary connection information, such as your IP address, requested URL, browser information, and request time, to the hosting provider to deliver and secure the page. We have not added website analytics, advertising scripts, external fonts, or nonessential cookies.
If you contact us, we receive the email address and information you choose to include so we can respond. Please avoid sending sensitive information, payment-card numbers, or Apple Account passwords. Support correspondence is retained only as needed to handle the request and any applicable legal obligations.
Retention, deletion, and your choices
Local gameplay records remain on your devices so you can resume games and review history. Undo and ending a match retain recoverable revisions; they are not permanent deletion controls. The current app does not provide an in-app erase-all or cloud-purge action.
Removing the iPhone app removes its ordinary local app storage, but does not necessarily remove iCloud copies, device backups, Watch caches, shared extension data, purchase records, or Keychain entries. Offloading an app preserves its documents and data. To remove copies across devices, turn off sync first, remove the app and its Watch companion from the relevant devices, and review the app's storage and backups in your Apple Account's iCloud settings. Available deletion controls depend on Apple's settings and your account. Contact us if you need help identifying remaining copies.
Apple and RevenueCat retain purchase information under their respective service and legal requirements. Deleting gameplay data or the app does not cancel a subscription; manage subscriptions separately in your App Store account.
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of personal information we control, or to object to or restrict certain processing. Contact us using the details below. We may need information to verify and locate the relevant record. We cannot retrieve your private iCloud gameplay history through a developer account. You may also contact your local data-protection authority where applicable.
Security and service providers
The app uses Apple's device data protection, Keychain, private CloudKit storage, and platform transport services. Service providers may process information in countries other than yours under their own contractual and legal safeguards. No storage or transmission method can guarantee absolute security.
We use information to deliver requested app features, administer purchases, answer support requests, and protect the service. Where privacy law requires a legal basis, processing depends on the service requested, our legitimate interests in operating and securing it, applicable legal obligations, or consent where required. Optional sync can be disabled at any time.
Children and policy changes
The app is not specifically directed to children and does not ask for a child's age or contact details. If you believe a child has provided personal information directly to us, contact us so we can review the request and remove information where appropriate.
We may update this policy when app features, service providers, or legal requirements change. The date above identifies the current version. Material changes will be explained through the app or this page as appropriate.
